Mrs. Posner has a degree in Elementary Education from Franklin Pierce College and has spent 18 summers as a camp counselor. Our Assistant Site Coordinator is Louise Baranowsky, who has been with SED since 2004.
At Noyes SED, we emphasize building relationships with peers and adults, and practicing social skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, empathy, and sharing. We have an enthusiastic staff with a wide range of interests and experience.
Our afternoon program offers a wide variety of activity choices. Each day, we have two teacher-run activities (crafts, games, science experiments, scavenger hunts, etc.). We have an Art teacher who teaches art skills and concepts, and we plan an organized active game each afternoon. One day per week, we hold “Club Day,” which allows children to go more in depth with their interests and learn new skills. In addition to this, we have many toys, games, and free-art supplies for children to use their imaginations and create their own activities. All children have outdoor time each day, weather-permitting. When the weather does not cooperate, children participate in a gym game instead. We have an optional Homework Club with teachers to assist children as needed. We provide healthy snack options including a carbohydrate, a protein and a fruit or vegetable each day.
Our morning program offers similar crafts and activities as well as an active organized game in the gym or outside. Many parents find this active time to be beneficial for their children before beginning their school day. Children in the morning program also have the opportunity to purchase school breakfast or bring their own.
