Nixon
Nikki Randall is the Site Coordinator at the Nixon SED program. Ms. Randall has her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has been teaching at SED for 12 years.
The program is held in the school’s cafeteria, as well as the gym, and outside in the wooded area and playground. We try to spend time outside everyday if the weather permits. Our students love playing basketball, football and four-square, as well as running through the trees, building forts and digging trenches for rainwater.
We enjoy crafts and gym games every day. Some of our favorite gym games are Mat Ball, Obstacle Courses, and Bowling Pin Dodgeball. We have club days each week, which in the past have included Science, Sewing, Birds, Building, and Science Fiction. We encourage children to suggest ideas for crafts, activities and clubs based on their interests. We have also taken nature walks around the school, and have enjoyed tennis and skating at Featherland Park. The children have worked on long term projects such as creating an SED garden, and community service projects.
At Nixon SED, we celebrate children’s imagination and creativity with art, dance and all-around fun every day!
